FuegoMundo will be closed Thanksgiving Holiday weekend to get new floors. We will be closed from Thursday, November 26th, through Sunday, November 29th. We will reopen on Monday, November 30th, at 11:00AM sharp.
We hope you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday weekend!
Gluten is a protein found in grains like wheat, rye, spelt, oats, barley, malt, couscous & other pastas. Gluten is elastic and strong. It’s the gluten in breads that allows the bread to be kneaded and rise. The American diet contains an overabundance of gluten in many products. Soy sauces that have wheat flour or wheat extracts, and milk products that contain malt or malt extracts are considered to be Gluten.
People with Celiac disease are extremely sensitive to gluten. If they eat foods with Gluten, even in small doses, it can damage the lining of their small bowel. This can lead to weight loss, diarrhea, stomach pains, iron-deficiency and folic-acid deficiency. A Gluten-Free diet is the only long term treatment for recovery from the disease.
Gluten-Free foods like soy, rice, quinoa, potatoes, buckwheat, lentils, beans, nuts, seeds and corn are important additions the diet. Add these grains to your diet if you are avoiding gluten in order to get a good variety of foods and to get important nutrients like fiber, B vitamins & zinc.
Should you avoid Gluten if you don’t have Celiac disease? Many people don’t have Celiac disease but are still sensitive to gluten with frequent stomach pains and/or skin irritations. There’s an overabundance of gluten in many of our everyday products. When people that are sensitive to gluten stop eating gluten they feel better.
The good news is that it’s becoming easier to eat out at Restaurants even if you are Gluten sensitive. At FuegoMundo all the Wood-Fire Grilled Entrées like the Steak, Chicken, Fish and Tofu selections are GLUTEN-FREE along with all the side dishes that come with them like The Latin, The American and The Health-Nut including the Spanish Rice, Black Beans, Plantains, Quinoa, Corn-on-the-Cob, Roasted Potatoes, Stir-Fry veggies and Salads! Also, most of the Tapas are also GLUTEN-FREE like the Yucca Fries, Fuego Chips, Ceviche and Grilled Asparagus. Be healthy and enjoy! FuegoMundo promotes good foods that are good for you without taking a punch out of your wallet. *
* Please note that not all the foods at FuegoMundo are gluten-free. For example, the homemade soups are vegetarian & dairy-free, but NOT GLUTEN-FREE. Also, some of the Tapas like the Baked Beef Empanadas contain gluten, and many of the desserts contain gluten as well.
You will recall our inaugural wine tasting last month! It was a great event. Well, the registration form for the November 18th Wine Tasting is now up.
You can REGISTER for the wine tasting RIGHT HERE!
We can’t wait to see you. We will be tasting wines from Argentina, Chile, and Spain. $15 charge for the tasting, but we will again have FREE TAPAS. And live entertainment and music from Global Beats ATL!

[a letter from our friends at Operation Boob Camp!]
Dear Masha & Udi,
Thank you so much for your generous donations and time spent dedicated to making a fun atmosphere and delicious food for our fundraising events at FuegoMundo. The Operation Boob Camp team, and Kristen and myself especially, wanted to let you know that with your help, we ended up raising exactly $40,000!!! What an accomplishment! And we really couldn’t have done it without you.
Your donations will be utilized by both the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust fund toward the research, education, treatment and prevention of breast cancer. With breast cancer in my family, I am truly hoping for a cure by the time I have daughters of my own. I am so lucky that my mother is a survivor because I could not imagine my world without her and I hope above all hopes that in the short future we will never have to wonder if any of us will be touched by this disease.
Again, thank you for your support and graciousness. You two are a special pair! I hope to see you at the next wine event coming up.
Thank you,
Operation Boob Camp – Cindy, Kristen, Hollis, Marshall, David, Sandra, Marcus, Katie, Kim, Joyce, Sylvia
