[a note from a recent customer...]

Masha;

I am an old friend from CBM, and knew you sister and brother well (I even went to Europe on a tour with your parents way back in 1986!).

Skip, and his son...

Also, I love your restaurant! My wife and I had lunch there several weeks ago with our 14 year old son, who is in a wheelchair and does not walk or talk. I have to tell you how proud you should be of your staff, who made us feel so welcome!

This is not always the case at restaurants. Our hostess/server made a real effort to connect with our son, and it meant the world to us!

I am forwarding the FuegoMundo Newsletter e-mail I just received from you to our Camp Twin Lakes staff.

I hope all is well with you!

[Thanks Skip. Your note meant the world to us. We are happy that you are a part of our FuegoMundo family...]

A Recent Yelp Review!

Yelp decal

We recently got a wonderful review on Yelp, and we wanted to share it with you. You can’t imagine how much it makes our day when our friends and customers say nice things about their FuegoMundo experience on online resources such as Yelp.

We are grateful for your business and your friendship. Thanks so much!

[from Yelp, submitted by Sarah R. on May 10, 2010]
“Fuego Mundo” means World of Fire in Spanish, and the Sandy Springs restaurant by the same name has ignited our tastebuds!

The restaurant, located at The Prado, specializes in South American wood-fire grill favorites — all at a reasonable price. Whether for lunch or dinner, there’s nothing that a plate of  Fuego chips and a glass of fresh lemonade can’t cure. Linger over this feel-good snack as you watch their wonderful chef grill steak or chicken skewers, White Sea Bass, and Costa Rican tilapia, to name a few of the menu items.

My husband and I are very NEEDY diners. A native of Costa Rica, he craves the rice, black beans, and sweet plantains of his homeland. Me — I’m on a gluten-free diet .Wow! At Fuego Mundo, we both can be satisfied.

Restaurant owners Masha and Udi Hershkovitz are friendly and caring. And, with special events like salsa lessons, live DJ, massage therapy, and trivia contest prizes, we’d go back just to see what’s happening next!

P.S. –  The Mother’s Day brunch was FABULOUS — with fresh watermelon juice, arepas, cafe con leche, and guava pastry that melts in the mouth.

[Thanks again Sarah R! We are grateful!]

FuegoMundo Customer Spotlight: Joan And Gail!

Joan and Gail at FuegoMundo...

Joan and Gail at FuegoMundo...

Joan and Gail first visited FuegoMundo back in August-2009.  They are two very cultured ladies, having traveled to many places in South America, including Argentina and Peru.

Through their travels, they have acquired a discriminating taste for fine South American foods. They were pleasantly surprised when they found FuegoMundo. They loved the flavors of the foods and service, and thought the everything was very authentic and tasty.

“This is the Best South American restaurant in Atlanta, they said.”  They are frequent customers now.  We welcome them every time they come.

Thanks Joan and Gail. We are thrilled to have you in our family!

Alexis and Lou!

Alexis and Lou!

Meet Alexis Soni and Lou Groover, who dined with us last week…

Lou is an avid meat-eater and Alexis has been a vegetarian for 30 years! Since birth!  That’s the first time I’ve met someone that has been a vegetarian their entire life – never even tried chicken, meat or fish… Incredible!

He ordered the Lamb Chops and she ordered the Grilled Tofu Steak with the Latin.  They both raved about how much they both loved the food and how unique it is for them to find a  place that they both love.  Our ideal customers!

They left wildly thrilled about the food, place, concept and service, and are planning to come back often!

Alexis is a personal trainer who serves people thru exercise, nutrition and health outdoors by the River in Dunwoody.  She’s planning to promote FuegoMundo to her customers as a healthy and delicious dining option!

Alexis and Lou – it was a great pleasure to meet you. Glad you are part of the family!

Hello Masha,

Sharon is out on vacation the next week so I wanted to get back to you.

Everyone loved the food yesterday. The meat went the fastest (of course)
but everyone continued to comment on the flavors of the rest of the food.
One person even said they normally do not like black beans but really liked
the ones from FuegoMundo.

Personally I really enjoyed my little vegan side. It’s not often I can go
to a restaurant that has quinoa! I look forward to bringing my family
there for either lunch or dinner.

Thank you again for your time and for the great food!

Take care,

Brandy

What some folks are saying…

“To sum it up in just one word, I’d choose “om-nom-nom-alicious.” Okay, so it’s not a real word and probably counts as four instead of one, but I’m using it anyway. So there.”

“But the sweet plantains? Heaven. We’re talking dessert, here.”

“Everything is cooked on a wood fire grill which is right in the middle of the restaurant so you can see them cooking your food which is a very cool idea!”

“All I could say was YUM!!!! the salmon was super fresh, everything was just right! you could taste all the flavors in the marinade on the salmon but it didn’t overpower the dish which is perfection to me.”

“They’re bringing a South American spin on the ever-growing fast casual space with an affordable menu and organic wine list.”

First of all, my apologies for the quality of these videos. They were taken on a blackberry curve phone. So, picture quality and sound are not the best. But, you will get the idea! These came from our first tasting session Sunday, May 31st!  [Note: there are three separate videos...]
